AUDITIONS

Auditions for the musical SOMETHING ROTTEN will be held Saturday, May 30 from 10:00 am – 2:00 p.m. at Paragon Theatre, 1321 State Ave, Coraopolis, PA 15108.

Auditions are for ages 18+. DANCERS, especially tappers, NEEDED! (If a dancer, can audition at age 16 and up.) However, not all characters or all ensemble dance and all ages are needed.

You do not need an appointment. Please bring a headshot/resume if you have one (not required), and a list of evening/weekend conflicts for June 1 – August 8. The show runs July 30 – August 8. All roles are open.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Please bring 32 bars of a Broadway song. (The funnier, the better!) Bring an accompaniment track. Hookups for iphone and android will be provided.
  • Please prepare a one-minute comedy monologue.
  • This is a bright, light-hearted, FUN show – your material should reflect that.
  • DANCERS – There will be a tap sequence taught at 10:15 and again at approximately 12:00. Please be present for ONE of those times. (Not both) Your song/monologue can be done either before or after you dance, depending on time/crowds, etc.
  • Not everyone is required to do the dance audition. However, if you think you might be up for it – give it a try! The dancers are the backbone of this show!!
  • If you are auditioning for the role of Nick Bottom or Shakespeare, you will need to stay for the dance audition!
  • If you are absolutely unable to attend auditions, a video audition may be submitted to ParagonTheatrePgh@gmail.com by May 30 at noon. However, we give STRONG preference to in-person auditions!
