ABOUT AUDITIONS
You do not need to prepare a monologue. The director prefers hearing readings from the script. You can find audition sides here. Please read the age categories below to see which audition side(s) you should prepare. You do not need to make an appointment. Please arrive anytime between 1:00 – 4:00. Auditions do not need to be memorized; however, you should not rely heavily on the script.
Please bring your audition side and a list of your conflicts between August 23 and October 25. A headshot and resume is helpful. If you do not have a headshot, your photo will be taken at auditions.
CONFLICT NOTES: Please be thorough and honest about conflicts. The director will work to arrange her schedule to be available any night of the week and Saturday mornings/afternoons. Exact days/times are dependent on scheduling conflicts. With a short, two-month timeframe, flexibility may be requested.
THE CRUCIBLE runs October 16, 17, 18 and 23, 24, 25. We will possibly be adding additional performances within this timeframe for high school students to see the show, as school districts have already expressed interest.
CHARACTER/AGE BREAKDOWN
MEN ages 18-50: Please choose either John Proctor or Reverend Hale. Prepare all three short scenes for Proctor or both scenes for Hale. Please also read over whichever script you are NOT choosing in case you are asked to read for the other character.
Men over 50: Please choose either Parris or Danforth. Please also read over whichever script you are NOT choosing in case you are asked to read for the other character.
Women of color 18+: Please read Tituba, in addition to your age category below. You may also only read for Tituba, if you prefer.
Women 12-28: Please choose either Abigail or Mary. Prepare both scenes for whichever character you choose. Please also read over whichever script you are NOT choosing in case you are asked to read for the other character.
Women 28-50: Please prepare scene for Elizabeth Proctor.
Women over 50: Please prepare Rebecca Nurse.
